At this time of year I always like to remind myself of a mantra that my my mum still says to this day:
‘It doesn’t matter what you eat and drink between Christmas and New Year…It’s what you eat and drink between New Year & Christmas that matters…’
And she is so right. It’s not about feeling guilty for the last two weeks that we have all spent over indulging and getting little exercise, it’s about looking to the entire year post January 1st and getting back into our routines or creating new ones to get ready again for next year! 🙂 In fact I believe it is healthy for us all to have this time off to enjoy ourselves.
The big question is however, how can we get back on track?
New Year’s resolutions – na, well in my opinion, na, just na. It takes a very determined person to keep to these. Not that I don’t think you all aren’t very determined people, but at this time of year the tendency is to: 1) set too many, 2) set resolutions that are unrealistic, 3) set them without a support network.
So why not try one of some of the following ideas:
I hope some of these have helped. Many ask me how I keep myself on track and get back into it after Christmas and New Year, my answer is simple – I use the motivation of my clients, they keep me going to be my best.
So watch out 2019 because here we come!
